Niklaus Zölch studied interdisciplinary sciences in Zurich at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH Zurich). After his diploma thesis at the Laboratory of Physical Chemistry under the supervision of Prof. Gunnar Jeschke he joined the biophysics group of Prof. Klaas Prüssmann at the Institute for Biomedical Engineering (University & ETH Zurich, Switzerland) were he received his Ph.D. in 2016. Since then he has been working as research assistant at the University Zurich in the Virtopsy group at the Institute of Forensic Medicine and at the Department of Psychiatry, Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics. His research is focused on various aspects of magnetic resonance spectroscopy at high field strength, in particular the development, validation and application of quantification methods which allow to determine metabolite concentrations expressed in standard concentration units.
