Garyfalia Ampanozi, PD Dr. med., MSc, is a board-certified forensic pathologist from Greece. Medical studies were completed in the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. She was trained in general pathology from 2003 to 2004 at the General Hospital of Kavala, Greece and from 2005 to 2007 in forensic pathology at the Institute of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. She has a Master of Sciences in “Medical Research Methodology”. Since October 2009 she is a team member of the Virtopsy group, initially at the University of Bern, Switzerland, and since February 2011 at the University of Zurich, Switzerland. Her main scientific interest is the pathological-radiological correlation of forensic findings. She is founder member of the International Society of Forensic Radiology and Imaging and Member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Forensic Radiology and Imaging.
